Brain Awareness Week. Invest in your brain.

Would you put honey in a car engine and expect it to operate? Probably not. Your brain is no different, and like a car operates best with premium quality highly nutritious food – proteins, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals from vegetables and fruit, and some healthy slow release carbohydrates. Your brain uses 25% of your energy intake.

Day three. Start your day with a healthy breakfast as your brain has worked very hard overnight while you were sleeping and needs energy. Consider a small serve of protein (nuts, diary, eggs, fish) an energy source (cereal, sour dough), and fruit or vegetable. Eggs and spinach on sourdough, oats with nuts, fruit and yoghurt, cheese and tomatoe on rye, leftover dinner………..Eat well in the morning to power yourself for the day.
